About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Valeter to join our team at the Workington Motorstore/GWM branch. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of our vehicles to a pristine standard.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm, plus alternate Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm.

Responsibilities

• Ensure thorough cleaning of sold and stock vehicles to a high-quality finish.
• Utilize high-powered pressure washers for external cleaning.
• Operate high-powered vacuums and shampoo vehicle interiors.
• Apply polishing and buffing machines to improve bodywork appearance.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety procedures, particularly when handling chemicals.
• Maintain and secure all equipment and machinery, report any defects, and comply with manufacturer guidelines and PPE recommendations.
• Meet set timeframes and performance targets consistently.
• Manage vehicle cleaning schedules using an online diary system.
• Complete daily work records accurately.
• Perform additional tasks to support branch operations as needed.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Possession of a full UK driving licence.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and capable of working effectively within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willingness to engage in training programs.

Previous valet experience is advantageous but not compulsory; comprehensive training will be provided to candidates demonstrating enthusiasm and the required skills. All newly hired valet staff will participate in Arnold Clark's Valet Academy training.
