UX Designer, GreenGov

About the Role

GovTech Singapore leads the nation's digital transformation efforts under the Smart Nation initiative, leveraging technology to enhance the lives of citizens, businesses, and government sectors. Within GovTech, the Digital Economy Products (DEP) division operates like a modern product company, addressing key challenges across sectors such as Healthcare, Manpower, Trade-Industry-Finance, National Development, and Sustainability.

As a UX Designer on the GreenGov initiative, you will play a critical role collaborating with product managers, researchers, engineers, and public agencies to create impactful digital products that encourage climate action at scale. GreenGov reflects the government's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by around 2045, with clear milestones tracked through the eGreenGov portal hosted within the National Environment Agency’s Waste and Resource Management System (WRMS). The Public Sector Sustainability Office (PSSO) monitors agency progress and publishes annual GreenGov reports, working to identify efficiencies and increase climate resilience.

Responsibilities

• Grasp the mission of PSSO and understand user requirements thoroughly
• Design user flows and mockups that effectively drive large-scale climate initiatives
• Conduct user testing on initial designs and refine products based on feedback
• Develop comprehensive user interface specifications
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to implement designs accurately
• Ensure the aesthetics align with branding guidelines and design principles
• Contribute to the development and evolution of a scalable, adaptable design system suitable for diverse user groups

Desired Profile

• Proven expertise in interaction and visual design, ideally with over 5 years in digital design roles
• Strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to detail
• A design approach driven by user needs and data insights
• High proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience creating designs that are responsive and accessible
• Effective communication skills for engaging users and engineering teams
• Proactive and positive mindset
• Commitment to public interest, including environmental stewardship, with the ability to respectfully challenge decisions when necessary
