Role Overview
As a UX Designer 2 based in Auckland, you will develop outstanding user experiences for both desktop and mobile platforms, utilizing AI-enhanced tools alongside modern design methodologies. Collaboration with product leads, engineers, and stakeholders is essential, as you produce scalable, user-focused design solutions through rapid iteration while prioritizing usability and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Create world-class, user-centered product designs by applying AI tools to accelerate and refine design workflows.
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to pinpoint user issues early and define requirements clearly with a lean approach.
- Lead iterative design activities including UX audits, heuristic assessments, journey mapping, ideation, prototyping at various fidelity levels, visual design, animation, and UX metric tracking, leveraging AI support throughout.
- Strategically incorporate AI in design phases for rapid concept exploration, research synthesis, documentation, and timely delivery without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with UX researchers to plan and execute studies such as generative and validation research, using AI to assist in data synthesis and insight extraction.
- Facilitate cross-team communication and shared understanding through workshops, critiques, and presentations enhanced by AI-generated artifacts.
- Ensure design consistency and system alignment by contributing to the company-wide design system and advocating component-based practices.
- Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders through proactive, AI-assisted documentation and storytelling.
- Drive continuous improvements in UX practices, focusing on effective AI integration and maintaining quality while increasing velocity.
- Engage with customers, users, engineers, product, and QA teams to review requirements and provide design input that could generate company intellectual property.
- Analyze user and product trends to derive meaningful insights and translate them into user journeys and UI designs embedded within Pushpay’s products.
Required Skills and Qualities
- Strong understanding of UX and interaction design principles, emphasizing how AI augments rather than replaces human-centered design thinking.
- Proficient use of AI-powered design tools such as Figma AI features, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms for rapid iteration and documentation.
- Ability to integrate AI strategically throughout the design process to expedite delivery while ensuring quality and adherence to usability and accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for sharing knowledge, providing and receiving feedback, and engaging stakeholders.
- A passion for innovation, a learning mindset, and eagerness to embrace emerging technologies and improve UX outcomes.
- Experience crafting detailed micro-interactions and user delights beyond basic functionality.
- Skilled in storytelling, facilitation, and maintaining a blameless, supportive team culture.
- Understanding of modern design systems and component-based design for scalable and consistent product experiences.
