Overview
SSP America operates a variety of authentic dining establishments within Miami International Airport in Miami, FL, including brands like Chick-Fil-A, Jackson Soul Food, and IceBox. The Utility Worker role is essential in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions throughout these restaurant locations, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining sanitary work areas.
- Keep all surfaces and equipment spotless, including floors, walls, ceiling tiles, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, and storage areas.
- Dispose of refuse properly by transporting waste to designated locations.
- Clear and reset tables in dining areas after each seating and transport service ware to the kitchen for washing.
- Scrape food residues off dishes, pots, and pans, wash by hand or load dishwashers, and return cleaned items to appropriate storage.
- Use specific cleaning chemicals and sometimes heavy equipment to meet health and sanitation standards.
- Assist guests with requests and communicate any special needs to supervisors or servers.
- Load and unload supply trucks, transferring items between storage rooms and work areas.
- Manage stock by dating, rotating, and temperature-checking food items.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be 18 years or older.
- At least six months of experience in retail or food service environments.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in English to understand instructions and effectively interact with guests.
- Experience handling guest service challenges.
- Possession of a food handler's permit as required by law.
- Brand certification if applicable.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and work in confined spaces.
