About the Role
Join Sodexo as a Utility Worker at East Mississippi Community College, where you will play an essential part in supporting kitchen and facility operations. Your key focus will be on preserving cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in food preparation and service areas. Responsibilities
- Hand wash dishes or operate dishwashing machinery efficiently.
- Sanitize work surfaces including tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat-cutting blocks to maintain hygienic standards.
- Perform floor maintenance duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning.
- Manage disposal of trash and waste materials by transporting them to designated collection points.
- Clean kitchen equipment using approved chemicals to ensure compliance with sanitation rules.
- Restock essential supplies like soap, paper towels, and cleaning agents.
- Engage in physical activities including substantial walking or mobility throughout shifts that may extend beyond eight hours.
- Regularly attend scheduled shifts and demonstrate punctuality and reliability.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned based on specific business needs and client requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or have equivalent experience.
- No prior work experience required but familiarity with sanitation practices and basic food safety principles is beneficial.
- Physical capability to stand or walk for prolonged periods, flexibly reach, bend, stoop, push or pull, with frequent lifting up to 35 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Schedule and Compensation
Employment can be full-time or part-time with shifts varying in days and hours; candidates with open availability are preferred. Pay ranges from $10.00 to $12.00 per hour. Specific shift details will be shared during the interview phase.
