Position Overview
Join Sodexo as a Utility Worker at Tuskegee University, where your efforts contribute to maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in kitchen and facility operations. This role supports food preparation and service by ensuring that equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage areas are thoroughly cleaned and organized.
Work Schedule and Compensation
This full-time position involves varying shifts with open availability preferred to accommodate different workdays and hours. The hourly pay ranges from $13 to $14.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually washing dishes or utilizing dishwashing machines effectively.
- Cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks to uphold sanitation standards.
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to maintain cleanliness.
- Disposing of trash and garbage in designated locations responsibly.
- Cleaning equipment using appropriate chemicals to meet sanitary requirements.
- Restocking supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning agents as needed.
- Mobilizing throughout the shift via significant walking or other means.
- Standing or walking for prolonged periods, often exceeding eight hours per shift.
- Performing physical tasks including reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Attending scheduled shifts punctually and consistently.
- Carrying out other duties as assigned, varying according to business needs and client specifications.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- No prior related work experience required.
- Familiarity with sanitation protocols and basic food safety principles.
