Job Overview
This full-time Utility Worker role at Sodexo, located at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN, supports kitchen and facility operations by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in food production and service areas. Candidates should have open availability as shifts and working days vary.
Key Responsibilities
- Hand wash dishes or operate dishwashing machines efficiently.
- Sanitize work surfaces including tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks to meet hygiene standards.
- Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning.
- Dispose of trash properly by removing garbage to designated disposal locations.
- Clean equipment using appropriate chemicals to ensure sanitary conditions.
- Restock supplies including soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials regularly.
- Exercise physical mobility such as walking and standing for extended periods, possibly over eight hours per shift.
- Perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Attend scheduled shifts punctually and consistently.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned, which may vary depending on client needs and business requirements.
Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- No prior related work experience required.
- Basic understanding of sanitation practices and food safety principles.
Work Schedule and Location
Shifts vary and include flexible days and hours. Specific details will be shared during the interview process.
Compensation
The hourly wage ranges from $16.00 to $16.50.
