Key Responsibilities

• Use detection equipment to locate and mark typical and complex underground utilities, consulting senior locators when needed.
• Interpret utility maps accurately to identify underground utilities.
• Document all utility locate activities thoroughly.
• Respond promptly and courteously to excavation notifications.
• Communicate effectively with excavators, utility contacts, and internal staff.
• Troubleshoot challenging locate scenarios and assist in identifying critical cable lines.
• Perform light digging with a shovel when necessary.
• Be willing to work overtime, travel as required, and handle on-call or after-hours tasks.
• Carry out duties in all weather conditions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this employer.
• High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant prior work experience.
• At least six months of experience in utility locating.
• Valid non-provisional state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Regularly work alone in remote areas, perform tasks requiring arms above shoulder height, operate vehicles, perform fine hand motions, bend, stoop, stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, and use a keyboard and mouse.
• Occasionally use portable ladders, work in confined spaces, and climb stairs.
