User Experience Designer

About the Role

We seek a seasoned User Experience Designer to join a high-impact digital innovation team based in Doha on a 12-month contractual basis, with potential extensions. This position specifically requires proficiency in Arabic. The role involves leading comprehensive UX processes, from understanding initial challenges and conducting extensive research to prototyping, testing, validating, and delivering outstanding user experiences. Close collaboration with senior stakeholders, product teams, and fellow designers is vital to act as a trusted UX consultant while helping to establish UX standards within a growing Centre of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire UX lifecycle including discovery, user research, journey mapping, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, and validation.
• Organize and interpret user research and usability tests to guide design decisions clearly and effectively.
• Perform UX Expert Reviews and Heuristic Evaluations, identifying usability shortcomings and recommending practical, evidence-based solutions.
• Translate complex business and user requirements into simple, intuitive, and user-centric designs.
• Lead discovery and design workshops involving senior clients and stakeholders to ensure collaborative solution development.
• Develop and implement UX frameworks, methodologies, standards, and best practices across the design department.
• Promote accessibility, inclusive design, and evidence-based UX approaches throughout projects.
• Collaborate with diverse functional teams spanning digital, technology, product, and transformation sectors.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, contributing to the advancement of the UX Centre of Excellence.
• Create thought leadership materials including case studies, UX playbooks, and articles for both internal initiatives and external design communities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished UX professional with a strong portfolio showcasing successful management of complex digital products from inception to delivery. They must be adept at balancing hands-on design tasks with strategic discussions involving senior executives, and possess experience in:
