About One Acre Fund Rwanda
One Acre Fund, founded in 2006, supports 5.5 million smallholder farmers across nine African countries by providing farm supplies, credit, agronomic training, and other services to increase farm productivity and resilience. The Rwanda program, branded Tubura, has over 3,000 staff serving more than 2.8 million farmers nationwide and works closely with the government to enhance food security and support agri-SMEs in marketing high-impact crops like coffee, avocado, and chili.
Role Overview
We seek a committed Transportation Coordinator to serve as the operational core of our country program, ensuring the safety, availability, and cost-effectiveness of the vehicle fleet including trucks, motorbikes, and cars. This role enables field teams to reliably receive their assigned orders without interruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain a dependable network of transportation vendors for nationwide operations.
- Manage onboarding, contracting, compliance checks, and performance evaluations of transport providers.
- Oversee transportation assignments, loading operations, and delivery documentation for seamless execution.
- Plan and schedule transportation activities to guarantee timely, cost-efficient, and quality services.
- Optimize vehicle fleet usage, leasing arrangements, and fuel distribution across all regions.
- Regularly monitor transportation processes and address operational difficulties proactively.
- Create dashboards and reports to track transportation metrics such as utilization, delivery success, costs, fuel usage, and efficiency.
- Analyze data to identify trends, savings opportunities, and improvements in processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on transportation routes, site accessibility, road conditions, and operational constraints.
- Design optimized routing strategies and contingency plans to reduce disruptions and enhance delivery performance.
- Provide operational advice based on geographic, infrastructure, and risk assessments.
- Train and support field and warehouse teams on transportation policies, systems, and best practices.
- Document lessons learned, operational procedures, and improvement opportunities to build organizational knowledge.
- Foster a culture of continuous enhancement, operational excellence, and safety in all transportation activities.

Qualifications
- 2 to 3 years of experience in transportation operations, fleet management, or logistics coordination.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Proven expertise in managing transportation providers, negotiating contracts, and fostering operational partnerships.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on efficiency, service quality, and operational improvements.
- Effective relationship management abilities with both internal teams and external partners.
