About FG Gold Limited and Project Context

FG Gold Limited, managing the Baomahun Gold concession project in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District, Sierra Leone, is currently advancing through the development phase. To support this critical development, the company seeks an Operations Coordinator to join its team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage operational continuity by coordinating shift changeovers and facilitating communication among operating teams within the processing plant.
• Assist in organizing shift schedules and staffing levels alongside the Processing Operations Superintendent.
• Oversee monitoring of plant operational parameters and collaborate with shift supervisors to resolve issues swiftly.
• Lead induction and practical training for new operators and coordinate ongoing training initiatives.
• Perform regular safety and cultural audits and contribute to the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Lock Out/Tag Out protocols.
• Compile and deliver production reports and shift logs to management and ensure fidelity of operational data within site systems.
• Investigate causes behind production variances and manage follow-up steps and corrective measures until resolution.
• Champion adherence to established operating procedures, reinforce Zero Harm safety principles, and support safety processes including Job Safety Analysis, Permit to Work, and risk assessments.
• Contribute to incident investigations and collaborate on remediation efforts.
• Foster strong coordination and working relationships with teams from Metallurgy, Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, Supply Chain, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) departments.

Qualifications and Experience

• National Diploma or Certificate in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; alternatively, substantial equivalent experience in plant operations.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working within gold processing plant operations.
• Experience coordinating teams on shift work is advantageous.
• Prior involvement in a Greenfield mining project is considered a plus.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in gold processing plant operations and shift coordination.
• Proven ability in production reporting with high accuracy in data management.
• Familiarity with mining safety legislation and operational safety practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English is mandatory.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work is situated at a remote, site-based Greenfield mining location.
• Employment involves rostered shifts and requires flexibility, including occasional hours outside normal working time during shutdowns, commissioning, and key operational activities.
• Frequent engagement with operational teams as well as project personnel is expected.
