Overview
Awanui Labs, part of the largest human and veterinary pathology network in New Zealand, is seeking a motivated Trainee Phlebotomist to join their Patient Services team. This full-time permanent position involves working across several collection centres in Auckland including Te Atatu, Massey, Henderson, Kumeu, Helensville, and Ranui. The role provides valuable hands-on experience collecting and handling biological samples for laboratory testing, supporting high-quality patient care within both community and hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens from patients in community clinics and hospital environments.
- Manage and handle biological samples such as blood, faeces, urine, and tissue safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Ensure precise labelling, handling, and transportation of specimens to the laboratory.
- Support specimen processing activities in a cutting-edge medical laboratory setting.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, care standards, and quality assurance consistently.

- Eligible to work in New Zealand.
If not already registered with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand, the successful candidate will be supported to qualify as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician within two years.

Additional Information
