Traffic Management Operative

Position Overview

We are inviting applications for a full-time Traffic Management Operative to join the Green Team based in Wairoa, Hawke's Bay. This hands-on role involves working on-site to ensure the safety of crew members, road users, and the community by managing and controlling traffic flow effectively at various sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up traffic management sites to secure safe working areas.
• Control and direct traffic flow to protect workers and the public.
• Support pedestrian safety and address any inquiries from local residents.
• Represent Higgins professionally and courteously in all community interactions.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in traffic management or a strong eagerness to learn and undertake training.
• Possession of Traffic Controller (TC) qualification at least Level 1 is preferred.
• Must hold a valid New Zealand Class 1 Driver's Licence; Class 2 licence is desirable or willingness to acquire one.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety for oneself, team members, and the general public.
• Highly reliable, punctual, and self-motivated individual.
• Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor work environments.
• Team-oriented with effective problem-solving capabilities.
• Prepared to participate in an on-call rota as required.
