Traffic and Detour Inspector

Opportunity Overview

We are looking for a proficient Traffic and Detour Inspector to become part of our Project and Construction Management unit based in Riyadh. This role is embedded within our Infrastructure Division and demands specialized knowledge in Civil Engineering and Transportation projects encompassing urban roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels. You will lead and coordinate all technical components related to detours, temporary traffic control measures, intra-site traffic flow, and related operations during construction phases.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and verify all traffic management strategies during construction phases and final implementations for highway projects, coordinating inputs from various specialized disciplines and quality control teams.
• Resolve or clarify design challenges and alterations.
• Supervise the examination of contractor submissions including technical documents, shop drawings, material specs, and design plans.
• Conduct final verifications of contractor-provided drawings, schedules, and material submissions to ensure adherence to project design objectives.
• Evaluate and report technically on Value Engineering proposals.
• Collaborate effectively with other supervisory and inspection teams involved in the project.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation or Traffic Management, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of seven years working on large-scale construction projects emphasizing onsite traffic management.
• Solid understanding of construction practices, design standards, and engineering principles.
• Knowledgeable about local construction codes, safety protocols, and regulations.
• English fluency is essential; Arabic proficiency is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, including report writing, interpersonal relations, teamwork, problem solving, autonomy, flexibility, and technical precision.
• Comfortable working within an international and diverse corporate setting.

Additional Requirements

• Non-Saudi candidates must have a transferable Iqama.
• Residency in Riyadh is required.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership is mandatory.
