Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Trade Sales Supervisor to lead and support our Wellington branch's trade area operations. This role involves actively managing daily trade counter activities, driving superior customer service, and assisting with team development and branch leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the trade sector efficiently.
- Lead by example with excellent sales skills and customer service.
- Support the Branch Manager in leading and coaching the trade sales team.
- Coordinate daily team schedules and ensure timely completion of key projects.
- Address customer queries, offering tailored product and delivery solutions.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with trade clients and team members.
- Monitor inventory issues and communicate with the Branch Inventory Controller.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met within the branch.
Working Conditions
This permanent full-time role requires working approximately 40 to 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with scheduled Saturdays. Exact shift timings will be confirmed during the interview.
Candidate Profile
- Experience leading or supervising teams, ideally in trade, building, or construction.
- Familiarity with plumbing products is beneficial but training will be provided.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a strong customer focus.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in fast-paced settings.
- Organised, self-motivated, and reliable approach.
- Numeracy skills and attention to detail.
- Competent administration and logical problem-solving capability.
- Ability to work under pressure with sound judgment.
- Strong sales and customer service aptitude.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Full, clean New Zealand driver's license.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 20 kg.
- Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal communication.
