Theatre Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

Join Cinemark as a Theatre Maintenance Technician where you'll play a vital role in repairing and maintaining our theaters, equipment, and property to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Your work will primarily occur during non-operating hours but may also take place during business hours. You will be responsible for fixing a variety of theatre components such as seats, walls, doors, restroom fixtures, sidewalks, parking lots, concession and office equipment. You'll also advise on major repair work performed by contract labor outside your expertise.

Key Duties

• Maintain and repair various theatre elements including tile, carpet, restroom fixtures, countertops, mirrors, walls, partitions, drinking fountains, minor plumbing and electrical issues, office furniture, and auditorium seating.
• Keep all Cinemark-owned tools and supplies in safe, clean, orderly, and organized conditions.
• Remove and dispose of trash, broken parts, and leftover supplies promptly after repairs.
• Clean and organize designated maintenance storage areas.
• Inspect the theatre and related property to verify that everything is clean and functioning properly prior to daily opening.
• Collaborate with the General Manager on maintenance priorities and communicate needs for parts and supplies.
• Secure theatre keys and ensure external doors remain locked during non-operating times.
• Prevent unauthorized building access during maintenance shifts.
• Meet and manage outside vendors by granting site access and guiding their work locations.
• Utilize Personal Protective Equipment correctly during specific tasks.
• Adapt to the varying frequency and extent of cleaning assignments.
• Identify and report safety and security concerns such as trip hazards or suspicious persons to management.
• Carry out additional work duties as directed.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Availability for flexible scheduling including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Consistent and punctual attendance is essential.
• Display a positive and energetic attitude throughout each shift.
• Deliver exceptional guest service.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, across diverse groups.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Follow instructions accurately and respond promptly to urgent matters.
• Access to reliable transportation for obtaining parts and supplies.
• Able to maneuver within confined spaces like restroom stalls and between auditorium seat rows.
• Knowledgeable and careful in mixing and disposing of chemicals according to regulations.

Physical and Environmental Considerations

• Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Regular standing, walking, and reaching throughout the theater.
• Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.
• Capability to stand for extended periods.
