About the Role
Join Cinemark to play a vital role in ensuring our theatres and equipment are in top condition, contributing to an exceptional experience for moviegoers. This role involves hands-on repair and upkeep of theatre facilities and equipment, usually during non-operational hours, although maintenance tasks may sometimes occur while theatres are open. You will maintain a safe and inviting atmosphere for guests and support major repairs by advising contract workers as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and upkeep on theatre property, including floors, walls, restroom fixtures, seats, doors, outdoor areas, concession equipment, and office furnishings.
- Maintain and organize Cinemark's tools and supplies to ensure they are clean, safe, and easily accessible.
- Dispose of waste materials and leftover supplies promptly after repair jobs.
- Keep maintenance storage areas clean and orderly.
- Inspect theatre premises to confirm cleanliness and full functionality before the start of daily operations.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager to prioritize repair and maintenance needs and report parts or supply requirements.
- Secure theatre keys and ensure external doors are locked during off-hours, and prevent unauthorized access during maintenance shifts.
- Facilitate access for outside service vendors, guiding them to appropriate work locations.
- Use personal protective equipment correctly while carrying out maintenance duties.
- Adapt to variable cleaning schedules and tasks.
- Observe and report any safety hazards or security concerns to management promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
- Positive, energetic demeanor and commitment to excellent guest service during every shift.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English, able to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Receptive to direction and able to respond quickly and effectively to requests.
- Possess reliable transportation to acquire parts and supplies as needed.
- Capability to access and operate in cramped spaces such as restroom stalls and seat rows.
- Competence in the safe handling, mixing, and disposal of chemicals, following regulatory requirements.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and reaching throughout the theatre.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels at times.
