Job Overview
Onliest LLC is looking for a proficient Textile Engineer with expertise in saree weaving construction and weaving technologies, based in Visakhapatnam. The candidate should have extensive experience in developing scalable saree designs through a fusion of technical textile knowledge and practical production insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement weaving construction plans encompassing saree components such as body, border, and blouse sections.
- Design modular, repeatable saree architecture aligning with scalable design frameworks.
- Convert design ideas into loom-compatible formats, utilizing CAD tools and jacquard programming techniques.
- Assess and optimize warp and weft interactions to achieve desired fabric properties.
- Organize and execute pick structures differentiating saree zones like body, border, and blouse.
- Evaluate loom capabilities and choose appropriate technologies for weaving tasks.
- Work collaboratively with weavers, textile mills, and production units to manage sampling and production processes.
- Maintain fabric quality by ensuring proper weight distribution and structural balance throughout production.
- Address and resolve design and manufacturing difficulties through hands-on troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Educational background in Textile Engineering or Textile Design with comprehensive understanding of weaving fundamentals and fabric formation.
- Deep knowledge of weaving construction logic, including warp and weft dynamics and fabric performance.
- Proficiency in saree construction methodologies covering body, border, and blouse.
- Experience with various loom technologies such as Jacquard, Dobby electronic, and traditional looms, including evaluating their suitability for specific designs.
- Competence in CAD-based loom translation and jacquard programming, with mandatory experience using NedGraphics and Textronics software.
- Technical expertise in warp setup and pick planning, including yarn counts, tension control, and border separation strategies.
- Understanding of fabric behavior with attention to weave structure and weight balance, particularly in the context of Indian saree construction constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to develop repeatable design logic and construct modular saree architectural frameworks.
- Proven track record collaborating with weavers and production teams, encompassing sampling, production cycles, and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities bridging design concepts with practical production execution.

- Background in luxury or premium textile design.

- Ability to integrate design thinking, engineering principles, and production processes effectively.
