Position Summary

As a Test Operator based in Carrigaline, County Cork, Ireland, reporting directly to the PCB Production Supervisor and Team Lead, PCB Test Technician, you will support routine production operations primarily onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate assembly machinery to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Prepare components manually for assembly processes.
  • Handle PCB cleaning and baking equipment operations.
  • Utilize torque tools for fastening specific components during assembly.
  • Carry out manual assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and related mechanical hardware following strict assembly procedures, process guidelines, drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Work primarily with printed circuit cards and electronic components.
  • Apply adhesives and conformal coatings as required.
  • Perform prototype assemblies under engineering supervision.
  • Set up machinery and conduct process-related measurements when necessary.
  • Maintain and service operating machines based on defined maintenance schedules.
  • Inspect and perform rework on PCBs and components adhering to defined quality standards.
  • Comply with personal safety protocols, including the use of specified safety equipment during maintenance activities.
  • Complete all production documentation accurately.
  • Use the ERP system for processing work orders.
  • Uphold all standards concerning personal tool upkeep, electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions, safety measures, and workplace cleanliness.
  • Receive specific equipment training provided by the company.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Familiarity with IPC7711/IPC7721 and IPC J-Standard and their practical applications.

Working Conditions

The role may require prolonged standing or sitting, tasks necessitating fine manual dexterity, manual handling, working with display screens (VDU/DSE), repetitive motions, and handling controlled chemicals.
