Job Overview and Responsibilities
As an Operator-2 located onsite in Carrigaline, County Cork, Ireland, you will report to the Lead at the PTH Work Center and support everyday production operations. Your duties will include operating assembly machinery essential for completing designated tasks, preparing components for manual assembly, and handling printed circuit cards and electronic parts.
You will also operate equipment for PCB cleaning and baking, use torque tools for fastening specific components, and manually assemble PCBs and mechanical hardware following precise assembly protocols, process guidelines, drawings, and standard operating procedures. The role involves applying adhesives and conformal coatings and conducting prototype assemblies under engineering supervision.
Additional responsibilities include setting up equipment, performing process-related measurements, carrying out scheduled machine maintenance, inspecting and reworking PCBs and components following set standards, and wearing mandated safety gear during maintenance work. Completion of production documentation and using the ERP system to process work orders are also expected. Strict adherence to personal tool upkeep, anti-static measures, safety protocols, and cleanliness is required.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Applicants with understanding and application knowledge of IPC7711/IPC7721 and IPC J-Standard practices will be favored. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in assembly operations, demonstrate commitment to quality and production objectives, and possess excellent problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and a positive, adaptable attitude suited to close collaboration with diverse coworkers is essential.
Work Environment
This role requires the ability to either stand or sit for long durations, perform fine manual tasks, manage manual handling, work with video display units, engage in repetitive motions, and handle controlled chemicals responsibly.
