Role Overview
The Territory Service Representative in Operations serves as the frontline representative responsible for ensuring prompt pickup and delivery of shipments within their assigned area. This role embodies Blue Dart’s brand, maintaining superior customer interactions, safe shipment handling, and operational compliance. The TSR works closely with the shift in-charge and branch teams to achieve service standards while upholding safety and discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct timely pickup and delivery of shipments, ensuring adherence to committed service timelines.
- Verify shipment information before handling and ensure parcels are treated carefully to prevent damage or loss.
- Maintain efficiency in route planning and delivery productivity.
- Represent Blue Dart professionally, providing courteous and customer-oriented service, resolving basic queries promptly, and escalating issues when needed.
- Collect Cash on Delivery (COD) payments accurately and remit as per procedures, obtaining Proof of Delivery and related documentation correctly.
- Utilize handheld devices or approved digital systems to scan shipments and update statuses in real time, strictly following standard operating procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies related to handling, documentation, customer interaction, and operational safety including wearing prescribed uniforms and protective gear.
- Ensure road safety, the security of shipments, and vehicle upkeep including statutory documents and cleanliness.
- Maintain high personal grooming standards, punctuality, discipline, and represent the brand positively through behavior and teamwork.
- Collaborate effectively with shift leads and colleagues to manage operational contingencies, participate in briefings, and contribute to meeting branch productivity targets.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational qualification: 10th Standard pass; higher education is advantageous.
- Open to freshers or individuals with up to 2 years relevant experience in courier, logistics, distribution, retail delivery, or field operations.
- Prior experience in pick-up and delivery roles is a plus.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Possession of a valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving licence is required.
- Must own a two-wheeler if deployment involves use of a personal vehicle as per company policy.
- Physically capable of performing field operations and willing to work in shifts including weekends and holidays as per business needs.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of pickup and delivery operations, shipment handling, proof of delivery, COD processes, and route navigation.
- Competence in mobile device and scanner usage along with basic computer and mobile application skills.
- Basic proficiency in reading and understanding English.
- Strong customer focus, integrity, reliability, safety awareness, teamwork, discipline, time management, accountability, positive attitude, and professional appearance.
Performance Indicators
- Adherence to on-time pickup and delivery schedules, maintaining high delivery productivity.
- Accuracy in shipment handling and documentation with minimal errors.
- Effective customer satisfaction and first-attempt delivery success.
- Compliance with safety protocols, SOPs, and uniform standards.
- Operational productivity metrics including number of shipments handled and route efficiency.
Travel and Work Conditions
- Role requires up to 75% travel within the assigned territory.
- Work onsite at branches or service centres with location flexibility.
