Role Summary

The Territory Manager role involves cultivating strong partnerships with customers in your designated Upper South Island territory (from Westport to Blenheim, based in Nelson). You will work closely with retail stores to enhance brand presence and revenue through flawless execution of promotional strategies and in-store activity compliance. Supporting merchandising teams, you will provide coaching and leverage data insights to optimize ranging and display opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain sustainable customer relationships within the territory
  • Collaborate with in-house merchandising team to offer training and guidance
  • Implement promotional plans accurately and monitor compliance
  • Identify and pursue additional opportunities to range and display products
  • Utilize analytic tools to inform decision-making

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience within New Zealand's FMCG/Grocery sector, ideally with field sales or merchandising background
  • Strong passion for sales, relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • High self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication with both internal teams and external clients
  • Proficient in time management, planning, and organization
  • Ability to quickly solve problems and adapt
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel and Teams; knowledge of Tableau is a plus
  • Possession of full driver's license and a proven safe driving history
  • Willing to work additional hours during peak seasonal periods such as Easter and Christmas
