Job Overview
This role is situated offshore in Saudi Arabia within the Oil & Gas and EPC project sectors. The primary objective is to guarantee that all telecom-related installations, testing, and commissioning processes strictly adhere to Saudi Aramco Standards, including SAES, SATIP, and project specifications, using approved IFC drawings, while upholding the highest quality and safety standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee and inspect the installation of Telecom systems covering Fiber Optic (both OSP and ISP), Structured Cabling Systems, CCTV, Access Control, Public Address (PAGA), Telephone & Data Networks, and Radio, Microwave, & TETRA Systems.
- Ensure conformity with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), SAEP, and SATIP regulations.
- Review and approve key project documentation such as Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Material Submittals, and Shop Drawings.
- Carry out field inspections on cable laying, terminations, splicing, grounding, and equipment setups.
- Witness and verify testing and commissioning activities including OTDR and Power Meter testing, fiber splicing and loss tests, system integration, and functional testing.
- Collaborate closely with Construction, Engineering, and Commissioning teams to address and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and site concerns.
- Initiate, track, and close NCRs and Site Observation Reports (SORs) efficiently.
- Ensure the preparation of accurate as-built drawings, testing records, and comprehensive handover documentation.
- Participate in inspections, walkdowns, and audits conducted by Aramco.
- Strictly observe and enforce compliance with HSE and Aramco safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Mandatory or preferred Saudi Aramco approval and successful completion of CBT as QC Telecom/Communication Inspector.
- A minimum of 7 to 8 years’ experience specializing in Telecom quality control within Oil & Gas EPC projects.
- Extensive practical experience with Saudi Aramco Telecom systems and Aramco EPC contractors.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of Aramco Telecom Standards and Specifications.
- Proficiency in interpreting IFC drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong capabilities in inspection procedures, thorough documentation, and technical reporting.
- Effective communication and coordination skills for interfacing with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of Systems and Documents
- Familiarity with standards and documents such as SAES-T, SAEP, SATIP.
- Experience handling ITPs, Material Inspection Requests (MIR), Work Inspection Requests (WIR).
- Understanding FAT/SAT procedures, as-built documentation, and turnover packages.
