About the Opportunity
We are engaged with a prominent organisation in Qatar's power and energy sector seeking to fill the role of Technical Training & Development Specialist. This role is ideal for an engineering professional who has transitioned into technical education and workforce development, with a proven track record of designing structured programs for engineers, technicians, and early-career technical personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute technical learning frameworks, competency pathways, and development plans tailored for engineering and operational staff.
- Develop comprehensive training programs from the initial needs assessment through to content creation, delivery methods, evaluation, and ongoing enhancement.
- Lead and facilitate learning sessions including classroom, hands-on practical, and on-the-job training, collaborating closely with engineering and operational subject matter experts.
- Assess technical skills of employees and trainees, identify gaps, and suggest targeted training interventions.
- Collaborate with business leaders, technical teams, and external training providers to manage programs, allocate resources, maintain learning records, and support all training activities.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering is compulsory.
- A minimum of 8 years relevant experience combining technical engineering roles with learning, training, or competency development responsibilities.
- Strong expertise within power generation, utilities, or the broader energy sector, preferably with exposure to operational or plant settings.
- Proven ability to design and build technical training and competency frameworks from inception rather than merely facilitating pre-existing courses.
- High-level English communication and facilitation skills; experience working within the GCC region and proficiency in Arabic are considered assets.
