Technical Strategist

Role Overview

The Technical Strategist at Propellerhead is a pivotal role responsible for delivering robust software systems that support complex infrastructures and pioneering platforms. Collaborating closely with Product Strategists, you will help define technical specifications and shape the direction of client product platforms.

Ideal candidates bring a solid foundation in software development, a mastery of software architecture, and an innovative, AI-first mindset. The role demands leveraging AI technology for rapid prototyping and guiding AI-enhanced delivery pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of intricate software systems, ensuring early releases are feasible and improvements continuous.
• Maintain and uphold engineering standards to ensure quality programming and evolve technical solutions in an agile manner.
• Ensure client platforms conform to Propellerhead's technical strategy through close collaboration with Chief Technologist and Engineering Principal.
• Serve as the principal technical liaison for clients, clearly communicating and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Author and review solution architectures, align designs to Propellerhead’s vision, and foster trusted client relationships.
• Support the progression of codebases, specifically advancing from C# to Rust within an AI-assisted development environment.
• Develop strategies to uphold key quality metrics including speed-to-value, security, reliability, maintainability, performance, and appropriate functionality.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 8 years of experience developing multi-tier, distributed applications.
• Proficient in using AI actively for rapid prototyping, solution shaping, testing, and code generation, central to this position.
• Proven expertise with React for user interfaces and C# for backend services; familiarity with Typescript, Java, Go, and Rust is required.
• Strong background in designing and building solutions on Microsoft Azure, including CI/CD pipeline creation and operational instrumentation.
• Experience with streaming and messaging platforms such as Kafka or NATS is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership in crafting complex software applications in enterprise environments involving integration of existing and bespoke services.
• Interest or experience in advanced technology areas including digital identity, verifiable credentials, open banking, AI agent authorization, and edge or device-based deployments.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business conversations effectively at all stakeholder levels.
