Job description
Role Overview
This position is designed for an individual desiring to maintain strong engineering involvement while leading a software development team. As a Technical Lead, you'll combine hands-on coding with guiding a team of 5 to 8 engineers, setting technical strategy, delivering features, and mentoring teammates. Close collaboration with an Engineering Manager is part of the role, focusing on supporting engineering growth and ensuring quality output.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineers through complex feature development and architectural decisions
- Clarify technical strategies and trade-offs to promote clear team direction
- Balance rapid delivery with long-term software maintainability
- Mentor team members to build their technical skills and confidence
- Align engineering work with customer outcomes to maximize user experience improvements
- Champion high engineering standards through example and guidance
- Design and implement robust features primarily using C# and .NET technologies
- Influence technical architecture and partner with Product and Engineering Managers to prioritize delivery efforts
- Conduct code reviews and oversee engineering quality
- Identify and navigate project risks proactively
- Promote strong practices across design, testing, and deployment processes
Technology Stack
- C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core
- NodeJS services and React frontends
- Entity Framework and other Object-Relational Mappers
- Databases including MS SQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB
- RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- Messaging and eventing systems such as RabbitMQ, SQS, and Kinesis
- Microservices architectures instrumented with OpenTelemetry
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure
- AI services using Claude, Bedrock, and Langfuse platforms
