Role Overview
At Pushpay, we are seeking a Senior QA Engineer who goes beyond basic testing to challenge assumptions and think about the wider impact on systems and customers. This role requires proactive engagement from early development through production support, partnering closely with Software Engineering, Product, Design, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to ensure robust testing across both front-end and back-end components.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive testing on both front-end and back-end platforms.
- Participate early in development cycles to identify potential risks, assumptions, and coverage gaps.
- Explore potential failure scenarios beyond standard workflows to uncover hidden issues.
- Focus testing efforts based on customer impact and business priorities.
- Perform in-depth defect investigations by analyzing clues and testing hypotheses.
- Prioritize and triage issues reported by customers and internal teams effectively.
- Consider the end-to-end system implications rather than just isolated issues.
- Maintain visibility and prioritization of critical quality concerns.
- Enhance testing methodologies, documentation, and overall team processes.
- Mentor and share knowledge with less experienced QA team members.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in QA or software testing within a SaaS or product-oriented environment. More importantly, this person demonstrates natural curiosity about software functionalities and excels in identifying unexpected behaviors and risks. Skills include thinking critically about customer impact, systems interactions, and possessing strong investigatory capabilities beyond executing scripted test cases. The ability to fluidly transition between front-end and back-end logic is essential, as is effective communication across cross-functional teams. Creativity, pragmatism, and sound judgment in testing approaches are highly valued.
Tools and Technologies
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence is expected.
- Experience with Playwright and Postman is advantageous but not mandatory.

This position is not an automation-first role; emphasis is on quality thinking and risk analysis rather than solely on automation.
