Role Overview
The Technical Lead (ABAP Specialist) will be based in Gurugram, Haryana, and is expected to drive complex SAP ABAP and S/4HANA based development projects by designing and implementing robust solutions. This leadership role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into effective technical outputs while ensuring high standards for code quality, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SAP ABAP/S4HANA/BTP solutions, including RICEF objects, CDS views, AMDPs, and OData services.
- Ensure deliverables follow strict coding, security, and optimization standards.
- Work closely with functional, integration, and architecture teams to understand and implement requirements.
- Champion clean core principles and modern extensibility techniques such as BAdIs, APIs, and RAP frameworks.
- Optimize HANA system performance through effective code pushdown and efficient data access strategies.
- Develop and integrate APIs for SAP and third-party systems using platforms like CPI/BTP.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce compliance with ATC/SCI and secure coding guidelines.
- Provide L2 and L3 support for critical production incidents and troubleshoot issues.
- Mentor junior developers and promote reusable frameworks and best technical practices.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 12 to 15 years of SAP ABAP development experience, with a focus on S/4HANA technologies.
- Expertise in OOABAP, ABAP Workbench, and RICEF object development.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of developing CDS views, AMDP, RAP, and OData services.
- Proficient in SAP BTP and CPI or other cloud extension platforms.
- Demonstrated capability in API integrations including REST and SOAP services.
- Experience in at least one to two full SAP implementation or S/4 transformation projects.
- Knowledgeable in HANA performance tuning and secure ABAP development practices.
- Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
