Technical Architect

About the Role

Storable is seeking an experienced Software Architect who is passionate about designing and developing high-quality software and shaping architectural direction to support a unified platform vision. In this role, you'll engage in crafting technology solutions that drive innovation in the self-storage industry's leading platform.

Responsibilities

• Define and guide the architectural and technical strategy for Storable's consumer-facing products.
• Collaborate with fellow Architects to ensure technology directions align with long-term product, security, and enterprise strategic plans.
• Lead cross-product discussions to establish consensus on technology strategies.
• Champion innovation in engineering principles and practices, identifying and promoting organizational improvements.
• Analyze technical challenges, propose solutions aligned with architectural goals, and support teams during implementation phases.
• Work closely with product and engineering leads to translate business goals into concrete problem statements and system specifications.
• Navigating ambiguity, partner with Consumer Group Product and Engineering Managers to clarify project roadmaps.
• Establish standardized software engineering and architectural practices at the organizational level.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and foster collaboration across engineering and product teams.

Candidate Profile

• Over 10 years of hands-on experience in consumer web development technologies and architectural design.
• Proven ability to unify large organizations around long-term technical visions and lead senior engineering teams in multi-quarter projects.
• Strong familiarity with scalable enterprise service design patterns including monitoring, analytics, and reliability engineering.
• Deep knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes, with enthusiasm for DevOps practices including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Substantial experience designing and building React and Node.js applications across multiple teams.
• Exposure to microservice architectures and asynchronous, event-driven systems.
• Competence in designing and maintaining globally distributed, large-scale systems.
• Expertise in server-side technologies, with ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using techniques like caching, asynchronous processing, and parallelization.
• In-depth understanding of best practices in REST API design.
• Experience with cloud configuration and deployment tools.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
