Tech Cell Engineer Level II - Light Maintenance Production Control Center

Overview

This role centers on coordinating and overseeing system-focused activities within the Light Maintenance Production Control Center (PCC), Line Production Control, and Heavy Maintenance Control Center (HMCC) Tech Cell. The incumbent ensures smooth task distribution, adherence to technical standards, optimal use of resources, and timely completion of maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze incoming Deferred Defects (DDs), Troubleshooting Recommendations (TSRs), and Technical Cell assistance requests from Line Maintenance, Quality Engineering, and other teams.
• Examine Aircraft Maintenance Pre-Input Packages to flag critical system tasks, important modifications, and operational hazards while ensuring compliance with prescribed Turnaround Time (TAT).
• Evaluate initial and complex maintenance work to confirm availability of manpower, supplies, spares, tooling, equipment, and logistics prior to approval.
• Support Production Planning with technical reviews, recommendations for task card amendments, and feasibility checks for complex or new maintenance assignments.
• Collaborate with Production Planning and Engineering to verify availability of approved documentation, functional equipment, necessary tools, and parts before maintenance activities commence.
• Track, analyze, and suggest improvements for recurring or critical aircraft system defects to enhance reliability and maintenance efficiency.
• Lead pre-induction briefings with Shift Managers and Supervisors on DDs, TSRs, critical system issues, and pre-arrival or pre-dock maintenance needs.
• Share insights on lessons learned, system challenges, and prior maintenance events to mitigate upcoming risks and support planning.
• Analyze historical maintenance data including modifications and major repairs to inform case studies, improve reliability, and plan future maintenance.
• Contribute to ongoing operational improvements and undertake additional tasks assigned by the Head of Department.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and have over seven years of relevant experience.
• Hold at least two years' experience in Production as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (EN.01) with company authorization for QR Fleet Type Rating.
• Educational background in Engineering (B. Eng., BSc) or hold an ICAO type II License.
• Familiarity with aircraft system fundamentals and maintenance environment constraints.
• Strong comprehension of aircraft maintenance data and regulatory frameworks such as Part M and Part-145.
• Experience in project management and execution.
• Excellent decision-making abilities under pressure to make timely, accurate judgments considering operational constraints.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve complex operational challenges.
• Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work beyond normal hours or support the operations team during off-hours.
• Proficient communication skills in English—spoken, read, and written.
• Competent using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and technical report writing.
• Managerial capabilities including delegating tasks, providing clear guidance, managing workflow, mentoring, coaching, training, and fostering team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification or courses related to Aircraft Maintenance Planning, LEAN fundamentals, or Safety Management Systems.
• Evidence of involvement in process improvement initiatives within Production teams.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical matters within the technical department.
• Good knowledge of IT systems utilized in Production Planning.
