Job description
Overview
The Officer-Crew Services is responsible for overseeing and executing the creation of compliant, safe, and efficient rosters for pilots, cabin crew, and security flying personnel. This role requires adherence to regulatory requirements and alignment with the airline's strategic directives, ensuring timely roster delivery and effective communication with crew and operational teams. The position supports the Head of Crew Services and operates on a 24/7 shift schedule involving constant coordination with Flight Crew, Cabin Crew, the Operation Control Centre (OCC), and Flight Operations Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update legal rosters for flight crew, cabin crew, and security staff, factoring in manpower availability alongside national and international regulatory and company policies.
- Ensure crew adherence to Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) regulations.
- Assign appropriate crew members to flights, maintaining correct staffing complements.
- Plan cost-effective rosters, hotel accommodation, and ground transport, prioritizing safety, security, and satisfaction of passengers, crew, and management.
- Manage databases related to leave allocation and days off, coordinating with leave bids and HR procedures.
- Support post-flight analyses of significant events and contribute to team performance reviews.
- Oversee correct crew training assignments in compliance with Operations Manual – Domestic (OM-D) and regulatory mandates, collaborating with Crew Training Officers on scheduled trainings.
- Maintain and communicate Flight Time Limitation (FTL) reports to management and update roster-related data in relevant systems.
- Coordinate cost-efficient ticketing with travel agents while monitoring updates or changes to hotel accommodation and travel policies impacting the department or overall costs.
- Notify crew of duty changes professionally and promptly.
- Assist in developing departmental policies, procedures, and checklists under the Head of Crew Services.
- Ensure efficient organization of crew duty travel arrangements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Diploma, Associate Degree, or equivalent qualification.
- Have at least two years of experience as a Crew Services Officer within the airline industry, preferably with VIP or unscheduled flight operations.
- Possess knowledge of Flight Time Limitation regulations.
- Be computer proficient, preferably familiar with industry-standard rostering software.
- Demonstrate fluency in both written and verbal English communication.
