About the Role
Join Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Works Operations team as a dedicated and safety-conscious Team Member, based in Maryborough. This permanent full-time position involves hands-on participation in concrete construction and maintenance projects, crucial for servicing community infrastructure like roads, drainage, kerbs, footpaths, and culverts.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute construction and repair works on roads, drainage systems, and concrete infrastructure
- Carry out concrete form setting and finishing tasks for kerbs, channels, footpaths, and culverts
- Operate and maintain various Council machinery, tools, and equipment safely
- Perform pre-start inspections and routine maintenance on plant and equipment
- Implement traffic management controls ensuring safety in public working environments
- Document completed tasks, timesheets, and service requests via Council’s digital systems
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a General Construction Induction (White Card)
- Valid Medium Rigid (MR) Licence accredited in Queensland
- Proven practical experience in concrete construction, including form setting and finishing methods
- Background in kerb, channel, footpath, and culvert construction
- Experience with road and drainage maintenance and construction
- Ability to safely operate and maintain equipment and tools
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards and safe working methodologies
- Capability to collaborate in team settings and deliver excellent customer service
- Basic computer literacy to log work activities and service requests
Desirable Additional Certifications
- Safe Working Near Exposed Live Parts (SWNELP)
- Chainsaw Level 1 Competency
- Traffic Management Implementation (Level 2)

Additional Information
The position offers a Stream B Level 3 classification with a starting salary of $71,780 plus superannuation. An additional annualised allowance of $2,701 and a 9-day fortnight work arrangement are also included.
