With over a thousand employees, the site operates advanced manufacturing technologies, utilizing precision injection moulding, robotics, vision systems, and data analytics across more than 40 production lines that produce upwards of 8 million contact lenses daily for a global customer base.

Job Purpose

The Injection Moulding Engineering team is pivotal in advancing innovative manufacturing streams. The appointed Team Leader will provide expert technical guidance, champion process improvements, address complex moulding challenges, and contribute to cross-organizational projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver technical leadership for injection moulding operations within a production value stream.
• Ensure moulding machinery aligns with company standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
• Support New Product Introduction through process characterization, testing, capability evaluations, and validating new processes per annual plans.
• Implement continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing product quality and raising Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions for moulding process quality issues.
• Utilize data-driven decision making and structured problem-solving to tackle intricate process challenges.
• Collaborate across departments to produce innovative, high-quality products efficiently and economically.
• Oversee multiple engineering projects effectively in a dynamic production environment.
• Employ advanced statistical and analytical methods to troubleshoot complex equipment and process issues.
• Communicate engineering findings and project results clearly within the organization.
• Keep abreast of emerging injection moulding technologies to foster breakthrough performance advancements.
• Assist in the design, development, installation, and validation of moulding equipment and processes.
• Provide accurate and timely project status reports.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support daily operations and deliverables.
• Exemplify strong leadership and cultivate a culture of high performance and adherence to company values.
• Ensure timely completion of Quality System documentation, including audits, NCRs, and CAPAs.
• Contribute to engineering and plant-wide strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Level 8 Honours Degree (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) in Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Mechanical, Materials, or Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Have at least 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or a comparable technical environment.
• Proven accomplishment in delivering results in technical or engineering roles.
• Preferred experience with advanced statistical and problem-solving methods such as DOE, Process Capability Analysis, Hypothesis Testing, and Six Sigma or Black Belt methodologies.
• Familiarity with equipment validation within a regulated FDA context is advantageous.
• Strong project management expertise including FPx or similar methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary ranges from €63,300 to €101,315 per annum. In addition, employees may receive annual bonuses, vacation and parental leave, bereavement, caregiver and volunteer leave, wellness reimbursements, and participate in insurance and recognition programs subject to plan terms and location. Benefits are subject to change and may vary by location.
