Team Lead - Java

About the Role

Newgen, a leader in AI-enabled digital transformation platforms, is seeking a Team Lead/Technical Lead in Noida or Gurugram, India. This role involves guiding the architectural design and development of scalable software solutions, ensuring alignment with client needs and company goals. The ideal candidate will lead a team, manage technical deliveries, and actively contribute to code quality and testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze client requirements, workflows, and data usage to identify challenges and design scalable system architectures.
• Create detailed architecture blueprints, software prototypes, system layouts, and design documentation.
• Illustrate functional solutions through comprehensive flowcharts, technical diagrams, and system specifications.
• Apply expertise in system integrations and configurable design patterns to tailor software solutions to business needs.
• Engage in low-level design, code development, peer reviews, and enforce adherence to coding and UX standards.
• Handle essential database administration tasks, including schema design, stored procedures, query optimization, and ensuring data integrity.
• Investigate development and operational issues methodically to address engineering bottlenecks and maintain system security.
• Lead multi-phase quality assurance processes by preparing test plans, performing various testing stages, and supporting UAT.
• Analyze logs and optimize database queries to troubleshoot and resolve application defects.
• Demonstrate products to clients and develop technical POCs to validate solutions.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive deployment and release documentation.
• Manage and prioritize customer requests in coordination with other leadership to ensure service excellence.
• Mentor and manage engineers, address personnel issues and turnover, and participate in hiring and promotion decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5 to 7 years of experience in software development across diverse projects.
• Proficiency in Core Java, JSP, Servlets, EJB, and Oracle/SQL database systems.
• Strong knowledge of SOAP/REST APIs, multithreading, web application design, program logic, and complex data structures.
• Advanced skills in database management, system integration, and automated workflow tracking.
• Experience or familiarity with banking retail loan systems, MSME lending, trade finance, or insurance policy administration systems is advantageous.
• B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related fields; MCA/M.Tech or equivalent engineering degrees preferred.
