Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of client-specific tax needs and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Support a diverse portfolio of prominent Australian clients in financial services, helping them adapt to evolving tax regulations while building strong relationships.
  • Manage client accounts and foster relationships across various industry sectors; interact with relevant tax authorities as required.
  • Contribute to complex and strategic tax projects, receiving exposure to corporate and global tax practices including Tax Controversy, US Tax Advisory, GST, and Real Estate & Infrastructure Tax.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to proactively manage Australian tax obligations, informed by a keen awareness of their requirements.
  • Formulate strategies within teams to address intricate tax technical issues and meet client deadlines effectively.
  • Champion the adoption of technology-based solutions to improve compliance processes for clients and tax business units.
  • Maintain enthusiasm for embracing change, helping the Tax team lead through an increasingly complicated tax environment with innovative strategies.
  • Demonstrate a proactive interest in technology and its benefits for automation.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the development of junior team members.

Candidate Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Additional postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or master’s degree are highly desirable.
  • Experience providing tax advisory and compliance services such as that acquired at a Big 4 accounting firm, mid-tier firm, or law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian tax market with some exposure to international tax matters.
  • Ability to utilize data analytics to generate insights that support decision-making.
  • Capability to assist clients during regulatory audits, investigations, and disclosures effectively.
  • Proven attention to detail, research prowess, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal communication, verbal communication, business writing, and proficiency with Excel.
  • Enjoy working in an innovative and cooperative team environment.
  • Possess a natural inclination for solving complex problems and reimagining possibilities for clients.
  • Exhibit integrity and genuine care for colleagues and clients.

  • Engage with leading organizations and utilize advanced technology to continually expand your expertise.
  • Flexibility in how, where, and when you work, promoting balance between personal needs, team dynamics, and client commitments.
  • Clear advancement pathways supported by ongoing learning and leadership programs.
  • Generous leave policies including four weeks of annual leave plus floating public holidays to support a healthy work-life balance.
