Due to continued expansion within our tax division, we are recruiting a Tax Manager (Compliance) to bolster our tax team. This role offers significant prospects for career advancement and can be based in any of our offices in Cork, Galway, Dublin, or Dun Laoghaire.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of domestic and international clients mainly focusing on corporate tax compliance, ensuring all tax obligations are met accurately and promptly.
- Review and supervise compliance work prepared by junior team members to maintain high-quality standards.
- Serve as a primary contact for clients on compliance issues, advising on tax law changes and handling communications with the tax authorities.
- Conduct detailed research into tax compliance and advisory issues, keeping up to date with evolving tax regulations and developments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver well-coordinated client services.
- Mentor junior staff by providing coaching, guidance, and training, and contribute to performance reviews.
- Participate in improving compliance workflows and support the integration of tax technology and transformation initiatives.
- Assist in managing financial elements such as work-in-progress, billing, and collections in alignment with departmental goals.
- Engage in corporate tax consulting projects serving both domestic and international clientele, offering scope for broader responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certified Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification required; accounting qualifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
- At least 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a tax compliance capacity, preferably within professional services, assisting clients with domestic and international operations.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate tax laws applicable in Ireland and internationally, including group loss relief, start-up reliefs, R&D tax credits, knowledge development box, capital allowances for intangible assets, and foreign tax credit relief.
- Strong skills in communication, organization, and project management.
- Demonstrated track record in managing client relationships and delivering excellent service.
- A collaborative approach with proactive problem-solving skills.
- An interest in enhancing processes and employing tax technology solutions is beneficial.
