Tableau and SQL Business Intelligence Developer

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

• Create, develop, automate, manage, and improve end-to-end Business Intelligence (BI) products by clearly gathering requirements, performing data extraction, ETL processes, automation tasks, and ensuring successful product delivery.
• Utilize SQL, SAS, and Python (anticipated future use) on a daily basis to maintain consistency in definitions and uphold governance standards.
• Modify and upgrade existing BI reporting tools as per change requests and keep all relevant documentation updated.
• Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and establish standardized processes for BI product deployment.
• Execute project assignments from BI Product Managers and leadership aimed at advancing team and business goals including onboarding new partners and adopting Cloud and AI technologies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and business advisor by comprehending business needs and performance patterns, delivering analytical insights, recommendations, and solutions.
• Continuously update skills regarding BI technical and functional innovations, including AI advancements, and apply this knowledge to current and upcoming deliverables, while acting as SME and trainer for teams.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams based in the US and India such as Technology, Finance, and Marketing to enhance the BI practice.
• Participate in meetings with BI Product Managers and interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Improve BI solution performance through optimization techniques such as query tuning, data extract strategy optimization, aggregation usage, and implementation of incremental refresh methodologies to support scalability.
• Interpret user stories and acceptance criteria developed with BI Product/Project Managers into technical design documents and build tasks, estimate level of effort, and identify dependencies and risks.
• Engage with stakeholders to clarify business questions, identify decision-making requirements, and recommend the best BI solution including dashboards, datasets, alerts, or standardized reports.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for metric definitions, business logic, data sources, refresh schedules, and any known limitations to ensure smooth support and maintenance.
• Implement access control and security protocols such as row-level security and permission settings according to platform standards in coordination with system administrators.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines with applicable analytics or business intelligence experience. Alternatively, candidates with equivalent hands-on experience in analytics or BI without a formal degree are also encouraged to apply.
