Role Overview

We are seeking a Systems Security Engineer to design, implement, and coordinate security initiatives throughout HUB24’s technology landscape. You will work closely with teams across architecture, engineering, development, and operations to embed robust security practices, enhance cyber resilience, and deliver solutions aligned with our Cyber Security roadmap in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess HUB24's current security posture and identify improvements for controls, procedures, and capabilities.
• Develop and oversee security solutions implemented in cloud, on-premises, and hybrid settings.
• Lead and assist security projects following the Cyber Security & Governance roadmap.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and development teams to integrate security and privacy considerations at the design phase.
• Conduct security assessments and provide expert advice to ensure solutions are secure by design.
• Support Security Operations through technical escalation and provide specialized security knowledge.
• Help develop and enforce information security policies, standards, and frameworks.
• Assist with audits, compliance, security assessments, vulnerability management, and threat and risk analysis.
• Offer technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to cyber and technology teams.
• Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to manage technology risks and security results.
• Utilize threat intelligence and industry best practices to support strategic cybersecurity planning.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, reports, and share knowledge artifacts.
• Contribute to the progression of HUB24's Cyber Security strategy and roadmap.

Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or related tech roles.
• Strong expertise in cloud and on-premises infrastructure, networking, and security technologies.
• Proven ability in designing and deploying security tools such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Vulnerability Management, Privileged Access Management (PAM), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Microsoft Purview security technologies.
• Hands-on experience conducting security reviews with a secure-by-design mindset.
• Familiarity with security frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, and ACSC Essential Eight.
• Experience utilizing security platforms including SIEM, VMDR, EASM, and EDR tools.
• Knowledge of risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance in IT security.
• Understanding of ITIL frameworks and operational support processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or an equivalent field or demonstrated professional experience.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP are highly valued.
