Job description
Overview
We urgently seek a Systems Administrator specialized in UNIX and Linux storage systems with experience in the banking sector to support our banking clients in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This role demands expertise in managing and maintaining enterprise Linux environments to ensure robust performance, high availability, and security of mission-critical systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer UNIX and Linux servers, including managing partitions and file systems such as ext4, XFS, and Btrfs.
- Manage enterprise storage solutions encompassing SAN, NAS, and Logical Volume Manager (LVM) technologies.
- Monitor system health and optimize overall performance using tools like top, iostat, vmstat, and sar.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery processes that guarantee data integrity and availability.
- Enforce security best practices by applying patches, managing user access rights, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Create automation scripts employing Bash, Python, and Ansible to enhance operational efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and storage subsystems promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation covering system configurations, operational procedures, and policy guidelines.
