About the Role
The Economic Acceleration Advisor will be a pivotal part of a specialized unit focused on catalyzing rapid sector-level economic progress through targeted 100-day initiatives aligned with Dubai’s D33 Economic Agenda. This role involves collaborating with government entities, industry participants, and businesses to diagnose economic challenges, identify growth prospects, and craft feasible, actionable interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough sector-based research, including expert interviews and stakeholder consultations, to pinpoint and validate pressing economic and business issues impacting the region.
- Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to clarify problem areas and estimate their economic consequences.
- Break down complex economic problems into well-defined challenge areas, recognizing root causes and potential solutions for economic acceleration.
- Perform benchmarking analyses against international examples to gather best practices and policy insights applicable to Dubai’s sectors.
- Assess market trends, regulations, and emerging sector opportunities shaping Dubai’s economic future.
- Design innovative and practical solutions based on evidence, factoring in economic impact, feasibility, scalability, and stakeholder readiness.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, government, and industry experts to refine strategies and develop compelling business cases, presenting these to senior decision-makers for alignment.
- Build and nurture trustful working relationships with government officials, industry leaders, and business owners to secure commitment towards targeted solutions.
- Manage stakeholder consensus among parties with differing priorities and serve as a trusted advisor throughout sprint cycles.
- Lead the transfer of finalized solutions to responsible business units and implementation teams, including creating comprehensive documentation and coordinating with project management offices.
- Identify and mitigate risks, track initial outcomes, and support continuous improvement and scaling of interventions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, Finance, Management, or related fields.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in management consulting, economic policy, strategy, economic development, or business analysis.
- Prior work experience with top consulting firms such as a Big Four or MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) is strongly preferred.
- Proven expertise in structured problem-solving, project scoping, strategic and economic analysis, benchmarking, and developing actionable solutions.
- Strong grasp of economic development concepts, sector transformation, policy and regulatory frameworks, and methodologies for business improvement.
- Demonstrated competence engaging senior government and business leaders on complex initiatives and securing their buy-in.
- Capability to deliver effectively in fast-paced, deadline-sensitive, sprint-based project environments.
- Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Mandatory fluency in both English and Arabic languages.
