About the Role

A prominent company operating various businesses in Tanzania, including ABC Upper Class Buses, Cate Hotels & Convention Centres, and ABC Oil, is seeking a proactive and skilled Systems Administrator at the group level. The role involves overseeing and supporting the technology infrastructure, digital systems, and business applications across several operations and multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure such as computers, laptops, servers, networks, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 platforms including Outlook, user accounts, and access controls.
  • Ensure regular backups, data security, and handle IT asset management.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly.
  • Support and administer the bus ticketing and reservation system for ABC Upper Class Buses, including user management, access rights, system configuration, and liaison with software providers.
  • Administer Hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, IPTV systems, Wi-Fi, network security, and surveillance infrastructure for Cate Hotels & Convention Centres, coordinating with vendors when required.
  • Support petrol-station POS, inventory, and reporting systems for ABC Oil, ensuring connectivity between stations and central operations.
  • Develop simple scripts, applications, and automation tools to improve processes, working with databases and SQL. Programming experience in Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, or similar languages is advantageous.
  • Assist with system integrations and API management.
  • Deploy and monitor cybersecurity measures including endpoint protection, antivirus management, backups, disaster recovery, and controlling user access permissions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • Strong expertise in networking, Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and general IT infrastructure support.
  • Experience handling IT operations in multi-location environments is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity or experience with ticketing/reservation systems, hotel PMS/POS, IPTV, or retail/fuel-station systems is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work autonomously while managing multiple workload priorities.
