Surveyor - GPS Trimble

About the Role

GMC Utilities Group invites applications for the role of Surveyor specializing in GPS surveying with Trimble equipment. The Surveyor will be responsible for conducting detailed pre- and post-construction condition assessments on properties and public infrastructure, ensuring precise documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed pre-condition surveys of private properties before construction starts, accurately recording the existing conditions.
• Utilize Trimble GPS/GNSS technology to conduct precise geographic surveys.
• Survey public areas such as roads and footpaths prior to construction to document current surface conditions and structures.
• Inspect sites before reinstatement work to verify existing surface materials and confirm the scope required for reinstatement.
• Execute post-reinstatement surveys to validate completed works for payment processing and confirm adherence to road opening license (ROL) standards.
• Research and document historical sites lacking sufficient data to facilitate the closure of legacy ROLs.
• Identify and report issues from ROL rejections, supporting resolution of outstanding concerns.
• Maintain comprehensive records through photographic evidence and detailed reporting to support projects and regulatory compliance.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations during surveying tasks.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possession of a full, clean driving licence is mandatory.
• Proven experience as a Surveyor within utilities, civil engineering, or a related sector.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using Trimble GPS/GNSS survey instruments.
• Exceptional attention to detail with an ability to capture and report accurate findings.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Competent in working both independently and collaboratively within team settings.
