Job description
Position Overview
This permanent part-time role is based in Rotorua and involves approximately 44 hours per fortnight, including weekend and split shifts between 7:30am and 6pm. As a Support Worker with IDEA Services, you will assist adults with intellectual disabilities living independently, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life through meaningful support.
Key Duties
- Provide personalized care and assist clients with varying needs while managing risks and ensuring their safety.
- Offer support that fosters independence and community involvement for clients with intellectual disabilities.
Candidate Profile
- Preferably possess prior experience in caregiving or personal care for adults.
- Maintain a calm demeanor and demonstrate confidence in managing challenging behaviors.
- Be available for split shifts including weekends.
- Comfortably use computers and tablets as part of daily tasks.
- Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be physically fit to provide any required physical assistance.
- Hold a full New Zealand driver's license.
