Job description
Role Overview
IDEA Services assists individuals with intellectual disabilities to thrive in their homes and communities. As a Support Worker based in Matamata, you will help clients achieve personal goals by providing meaningful, creative, and supportive care. This role involves working with clients with complex needs, managing risks, ensuring safety, and delivering individual overnight care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized care and support for adults with intellectual disabilities in their own homes.
- Manage challenging behaviours with calmness and confidence.
- Work flexible shifts that include weekends and overnight sleepovers.
Candidate Profile
- Previous caregiving or personal care experience is preferred, but diverse life experience and an open mindset are valuable.
- Strong computer and tablet proficiency for daily use.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physically fit to provide necessary support.
- Holds a full New Zealand driver's license.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage ranging from $24.68 to $30.13 depending on qualifications, with opportunities to earn more as qualifications are attained.
