About the Role
Join IDEA Services as a permanent full-time Support Worker in Dunedin, providing 65+ hours per fortnight on diverse rosters including morning, evening, sleepover, and weekend shifts. Hourly pay ranges from NZD 24.68 to 30.13 depending on your qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Enable individuals with intellectual disabilities to gain independence by assisting with daily living skills such as using public transport and cooking.
- Support personal care routines including showering, dressing, and medication management.
- Encourage and assist to pursue personal goals, hobbies, and interests.
- Promote healthy lifestyle choices and overall well-being.
- Help strengthen connections with family (whānau) and the wider community.
Requirements
- A compassionate, people-centred approach valuing dignity and well-being.
- Previous experience in health or disability support roles serving individuals with varied needs.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Physical ability to provide hands-on assistance when required.
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and sleepovers.
- Possession of a full New Zealand driver's licence.
