Job description
About the Role
We are looking for Support Workers to assist people facing complex behavioural challenges, providing support that promotes safety and positive behaviour. You’ll help individuals develop life skills and foster independence by assisting with daily activities tailored to their abilities. Shifts vary and can include daytime, evenings, overnight, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with tasks such as transportation, employment support, managing finances, meal prep, shopping, cleaning, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
- Manage and respond confidently to challenging behaviours and situations.
- Create a safe and supportive environment encouraging meaningful progress.
Requirements
- Enthusiasm to build a career as a Support Worker; no prior health or disability experience required.
- Capability to handle behaviours that challenge effectively.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and overnight stays.
- Proficient in daily use of computers and tablets.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical fitness to provide required physical assistance.
- Possession of a current Full New Zealand driver’s license.
