Role Overview
The Commerce Strategy & Operations Senior Manager for Australia will spearhead strategy and operational improvements across our marketplace ecosystem, encompassing buyer and seller experiences, trust, risk, fraud, logistics, and payments. This inaugural role in Australia involves close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to enhance post-purchase operations, shaping scalable and high-quality services for Australian users.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans for post-purchase operations aimed at elevating customer experiences in Australia.
- Analyze operational metrics and user interaction data to prioritize initiatives that optimize quality, efficiency, and scalability.
- Collaborate with the Global Commerce team to implement user-centric improvements, managing end-to-end execution.
- Lead multifaceted, cross-functional projects from ideation through delivery, maintaining alignment, accountability, and measurable success.
- Design and roll out scalable processes, systems, and operational models to support sustainable growth and evolving user needs.
- Act as a strategic advisor and representative for Australia to senior leadership, delivering data-informed insights and recommendations.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance operational performance to improve efficiency, resilience, and overall user satisfaction.
Candidate Profile
- Brings 8-10 years of experience in strategy and operations roles such as consulting, finance, general management, or operations.
- Has a proven track record in crafting and implementing strategies that enable scalable and high-caliber operations in dynamic, ambiguous settings.
- Demonstrates strong analytical abilities to translate both quantitative and qualitative data into clear recommendations and decisions.
- Experienced in leading substantial cross-functional initiatives from conception to implementation.
- Capable of identifying inefficiencies and designing scalable operational frameworks that accommodate long-term growth.
- Holds excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to influence teams across Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership.
- Proficient with data analysis and business intelligence tools; knowledge of SQL and platforms such as Looker, Sigma, or Hex is advantageous.
- Possesses a nuanced understanding of the Australian marketplace.
