Job description

Overview

The Store Manager at our Cambridge, ON location serves as the primary leader responsible for overseeing store operations, ensuring excellent customer experiences, managing the team effectively, and achieving business goals. This role focuses mainly on management duties rather than hands-on operational tasks like stocking or cashiering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all store activities ensuring full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, company policies, and relevant legal requirements.
  • Drive achievement of sales, profit plans, and key performance indicators aligned with annual targets.
  • Champion the delivery of the company's customer brand promises to enhance shopper satisfaction.
  • Implement and oversee shrinkage and safety programs to meet set objectives.
  • Utilize company tools to set, communicate, and prioritize goals for team members and customers alike.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage store staff, fostering performance development and talent growth through structured coaching and disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Model respectful and positive interactions, embracing company values and acting as a role model across all situations.
  • Fulfill the Manager on Duty role when assigned.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of all departments, ensuring cross-training in custom framing sales and production among managers.

Additional Duties

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support overall store success.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of five years in retail environments, with strong expertise in inventory control, merchandising, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience overseeing diverse teams including managing performance and nurturing potential advancements.

Physical and Work Environment Demands

  • Capability to stand for extended periods and move freely throughout the store.
  • Regular activities involve bending, lifting, carrying items, reaching, and stretching.
  • Occasional lifting of heavy goods and working at heights via ladders or similar equipment are required.
  • The work setting includes public retail areas that are climate controlled, stock rooms that may not be climate controlled, some outdoor tasks, and a frame shop equipped with a glass cutter and heat press.
  • Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
