About the Role

Hot Topic is seeking a passionate Store Manager to lead its Merced, CA location, championing music and pop culture while delivering an exceptional shopping experience. You'll steer the team to meet sales targets, manage recruitment and staff development, and ensure outstanding customer service in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, and maintain a motivated, collaborative team to operate the store successfully.
• Drive customer engagement and excitement via social media, store web applications, and personalized client interactions.
• Maintain operational excellence through effective organization, delegation, autonomy, and customer-focused selling strategies.
• Monitor loss prevention, control payroll hours and schedules, and respond to external factors influencing business.
• Collaborate with retail leadership and headquarters on customer feedback and emerging trends.
• Analyze sales reports and data to inform strategies that achieve sales objectives.
• Adapt to new technology, enforce company policies, and manage supply expenses responsibly.
• Execute compelling merchandising in line with planograms, ensuring all promotions launch promptly.
• Mentor and support staff continuously to build a capable and passionate team through recognition and constructive feedback.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience managing a retail store team successfully.
• Possess strong skills in communication, recruitment, and operational management such as payroll, reporting, scheduling, and merchandising.
• High school diploma or GED required; higher education degree advantageous.
• Adaptability to rapid changes common in retail environments.
• Interest or curiosity in pop culture fandoms and music trends.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as navigating the store, handling merchandising equipment, and lifting merchandise up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Compensation

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $23.90 to $29.90. The final salary will depend on education, location, experience, and other factors.
