Position Overview
We are seeking a Store Delivery Driver to join our team full-time on a permanent contract basis, working 36.75 hours per week. This role is based at B&Q Swindon 1321 and requires shift work from Monday to Sunday between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm. The hourly pay rate is £13.85, which includes a £0.27 per hour location allowance specific to the store.
Job Role and Responsibilities
As a Store Delivery Driver, you will be integral to providing excellent customer service by ensuring deliveries are made punctually and goods arrive in pristine condition. You will operate one of our 3.5-ton vans to deliver various items ranging from small tins of paint to large quantities of flooring. The role involves physical tasks including heavy lifting.
When not delivering, you will support the store floor by fulfilling customer orders using new technology and assisting your colleagues. Maintaining safety and efficiency is crucial, as is representing the B&Q brand by prioritizing customer satisfaction wherever you go.
Requirements and Qualifications
- You must hold a valid UK manual driving license (Category B/B1) held for at least one year and free of more than six penalty points.
- Previous experience as a multi-drop delivery driver is advantageous but not mandatory.
- You should be a clear and effective communicator, capable of organizing and planning even during busy periods, keeping tasks straightforward.
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays as part of a rota system is required.
- Successful candidates will undergo DVLA and background checks, including an Experian check and DBS disclosure for safety and reassurance.
